Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for an On-Call Hospice Position in North Houston. This role involves providing after-hours hospice care and support to patients and their families, ensuring timely response and high-quality care. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a deep understanding of hospice philosophy, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:

Respond promptly to on-call requests, including patient assessments, symptom management, and emergency interventions.

Provide hands-on nursing care in alignment with the patient’s plan of care, focusing on comfort and quality of life.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to provide education and emotional support.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address changes in the patient’s condition and update the plan of care as necessary.

Accurately document all visits, interventions, and communications in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Maintain compliance with hospice policies, procedures, and CMS guidelines.

Participate in on-call shifts, holding the on-call phone, and ensuring availability to respond to patient needs.
Compensation and Benefits:

$100 per visit.

Up to $250 for holding the on-call phone.

Qualifications:

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.

Minimum of 2 years of hospice nursing experience.

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with the North Houston area and willingness to travel within the region.
